CAUSE Team Wins First Prize
Mission of the CAUSE team was to help educate children with special needs. The project developed to serve the community was carried out by four WIE member, namely, Noor Kalaji, Laila Mohamed, Nesrine Bengra and Abrar Duhair. The on-going project is a brain child of Engr. Tazeen Sharif who has been contributing to helping the challenged children for over a decade and supervised the team with full enthusiasm and much need support. The team grabbed the first place int he Community Service Competition and was awarded AED 1000 cash prize, certificate of appreciation and momento. The contribution was highly appreciated by the esteemed panel of judges from 10 different universities in UAE.

AUST WIE Team Wins 2nd Prize in Engineering Design Competition
A team of three WIE student members participated in Engineering Design Competition 2008. Theme of the competitons was to build a glider that could cover a distance of up to 100 m. The project was carried out by Sana Ashraf, Fatima Kauser and Noor Alawad, under the supervision of Engr. Tazeen Sharif. The team won 2nd place in the competition and was honored with a cash prize of AED 750.
SMART Team Wins 3rd Prize
The mission of the SMART Team is to motivate and encourage high school students to persue a career in Science and Engineering. To execute this, the team develops simple projects and presentations, delivers seminars by visiting schools and demonstrates the projects. They also conduct quiz competitions and educational games to add fun to the whole experience.
SMART team of five members, namely, Raihana Mumtaj, Rabia Rafiq, Rimas Adnan, Dawood Ahmed and Haider Ghadban, won the thrid place in the Community Service Competition and were awarded a cash prize of AED 500. The project was supervised and coordinated by Engr. Tazeen Sharif.

3rd IEEE UAE Student Day 2008
Forty IEEE-WIE Student Members participated in 5 different competitions during the 3rd IEEE UAE Student Day, hosted by UAE University, Al-Ain on 1st May 2008. Faculty members of AUST who contributed towards organizing, coordinating and judging competitions are:

World Summit on Innovation & Entrepreneurship 2008
WSIE 2008 - World Summit on Innovation & Entrepreneurship 2008 was held at Jumeirah Beach Hotel between 1-3 April, 2008. Where over 300 prominent personalities from all over the world were invited to exchange ideas and share experiences in creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship, IEEE- WIE members, Engr. Maryam Al Thani and Engr. Tazeen Sharif also had the opportunity to witness the extravangant event.
Solar Racing Car Project
Building Vocabulary ... Empowering Communication
Under the patronage of Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, Mr. Feraj and his team is working towards building and empowering vocabulary of the nation. Realizing the necessity of strong vocabulary and communication skills, a team of eight members from Ajman University joined hands with Mr. Feraj to conduct Scrabble League on National Level in three different languages, Arabic, English and French. The AUST Team consists of:

Mentoring High School Students
Engineering Day at Al Hikmah School
Engineering Day at Al Hikmah School, Ajman included an intriductory presentation on Engineering and its disciplines, quiz competitions and project demonstrations. Students and staff of Al-Hikmah School highly appreciated the contribution by Engr. Tazeen Sharif and her team of students from Ajman University.
